EIS Overview

 The Enterprise Information Services Department provides services related to information management through computer systems, data technology and telecommunications. These services assist in supporting the operations of the Cedars-Sinai Health System.

Important Functions Provided by the Department:

Utilizing computer systems, data technology, and telecommunications, the services provided by the EIS Department improve, support and maintain patient care management, Health System governance and management, and communication. These services are provided through:

  • A technology infrastructure which serves as a foundation for the development of information management applications
  • Direction and support in the selection and implementation of applications which promote cost effectiveness and improve business and clinical processes
  • An information systems governance structure which supports strategic business goals and objectives

Mission Statement:

The Enterprise Information Services Department supports the Health System’s strategic administrative and clinical initiatives, by providing an infrastructure capable of effectively accommodating the Health System’s computer services, data technology, and telecommunications needs.

By implementing a consultative approach with other Departments within the Health System, as well as our User community, the EIS Department works collaboratively to establish mutually beneficial partnerships and a framework for cost effective and efficient systems.

Given the diverse nature of our customer base, the EIS Department has adopted strategies and is committed to providing and supporting a computing environment which encourages and fosters physician, faculty, and staff access to our clinical data systems, including external network access.

Our focus is to provide access to secure, reliable and timely data by investigating and assisting with new state-of-the-art technologies, providing technical consulting services, network design and installation, effective communication systems, system support, and seamless access to information. By partnering with others within the Health System, we provide technical leadership and develop effective solutions.
